Ok guys here is the
deal. We keep talking about this and people keep asking so we
better get our thoughts out there.
LaVerne and I keep
thinking about a workshop in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. We
know the town pretty well having stayed there many times. San
Miguel is Mexico lite, but it is Mexico. You can get sick if
you are not careful. San Miguel is a beautiful colonial city
of about 80,000 with about 6,000 gringos. So we would take 12
intrepid painter travelers, spouses or friends.
LaVerne will teach
a brief Spanish class. Non-painting spouses can take this for
$100. for the week. We would do some touring around town and
paint at a bed and breakfast where we will all be staying. We
are going down in May to pick one out and figure out the details.
San Miguel is small enough that we can walk most everywhere and
cabs are cheap. People would fly into Leon Airport (BJX) and
take a shuttle for one and a half hours to San Miguel. Participants
would fly in on Sunday and leave the following Sunday.
We need to figure
out dates, but we do have some pricing at this point. We would
be staying at Casa Crayola which is just a few blocks from the
center of San Miguel. Casa
Crayola has 7 casitas, we would stay in one so we could take
up to 12 people with double occupancy.
Cost would be $1200.
for 7 days and 6 nights (double occupancy). This would include
breakfast, lunch and margaritas at happy hour. Also spanish with
LaVerne and painting with Stephen. Not including airfare or dinner.
The
dates will be October 26 - November 2.
Let us know if you
are interested this will fill up fast!
People might want to stay longer
to take in more of San Miguel.
